The Essentials Collective Inc (TEC Inc) is a unique and inspiring Western Australian not-for-profit organisation that provides people in need with essential every day items.
At TEC Inc, our board and volunteers are committed to a no-fuss and hands-on approach to ensure that goods get to the people that need them.
In a world where it's easy to take basics things for granted, TEC Inc asks the general public for donations of goods in two campaigns per year: "Collecting the Essentials" & "Collecting the Basics".

Chair
Sonia Nolan
Sonia Nolan specialises in strategy, communications, engagement and social change through her consultancy Sonia Nolan Communications. She works across corporate, not for profit and government sectors while also serving on social services and education boards in WA and nationally.
Sonia enjoys balancing multiple roles; she mentors the next generation of leaders, tutors in international marketing at Curtin Uni, produces an independent podcast (My Warm Table), volunteers, and also moon-lights as a Marriage Celebrant.
Sonia is passionate about social justice issues, building community, compassion & empathy.

Jamie Horner
Jamie brings over 24 years of leadership experience in marketing, training and strategic planning to the board.
She is the Director of a Property Management services company and has a Masters in Property, Degree in Business and is a Certified Trainer at the Real Estate Institute of WA, and currently serves on boards in strata titles and property investment.
Jamie is passionate about empowering organizations in forging a strong brand presence, sound financial governance and ensuring sustainable long-term visions and practices.

Melissa De Abreu
Melissa is a senior lawyer with an extensive background in litigation, dispute resolution, commercial law and human rights.
A strong advocate for social justice, equality, diversity and community, Melissa has made significant contributions to pro bono legal services and facilitating greater access to justice.
She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in advising on strategy, legal issues and stakeholder engagement.
Melissa is passionate about empowering others and creating positive change in the community.

Catherine is a stakeholder engagement and communications strategist.
She has extensive experience in guiding the conversations that matter on some of the State's largest land development projects.

Richard Bone
Richard has comprehensive Board leadership experience and is a Graduate of the Company Directors Course.
He served on the Executive Committee of the WA Internet Association for 6 years including 2 years as President. His NFP experience includes serving on the Board of Ruah Community Services for 8 years including 2 years as Board Chair.
Richard has corporate leadership experience having led a software company for 18 years.

Ellen Slobe
Ellen is an accomplished administrator, with over 20 years’ experience in the NFP sector, with a focus on coordinating events, and stakeholder and community engagement.
A mum of 3; Ellen has long held a passion for volunteering to give back to the community, which has seen her contribute to various community initiatives; from making bread rolls at a local soup kitchen to sitting on the board of a local pregnancy support centre.
She is excited to apply her learnings, to engage with volunteers, supporters and community to spearhead and grow The Essentials Collective’s campaigns.
